Mapmatics is a GIS practice based in Tyler, Texas, built around oil and gas land work. We've spent years working alongside landmen, land companies, contract land companies, and operators — building unit maps, drawing tracts from deed descriptions, producing the progress maps contract land companies relay to clients, and delivering the plats and exhibits that go into closings and presentations.

We're not a general GIS firm that also takes oil and gas projects. Every client we serve is on the land side of the energy business. That means we know the difference between a unit designation and a survey abstract, we can read a metes-and-bounds description, and we understand why getting the acreage right matters.
